There’s Only One Reason Why You Feel Overwhelmed…
(And This Simple Plan Fixes It in Minutes a Day)

If you’re a parent staring at the clock, wondering if your child will really “be ready” when school starts…
Or guilt-tripping yourself because the ABCs turned into a meltdown (again!)—you’re not alone.
Most parents never get handed a roadmap for kindergarten prep. You want the BEST for your child…but “prep” feels overwhelming, the games don’t work, and every week brings new doubts:
Are we behind? Is my child falling through the cracks? What should we really focus on—without wasting money or stressing everyone out?
Imagine if every day felt like a win—not a guessing game.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics and multiple nationalstudies, a significant percentage of children enter kindergarten withoutthe foundational skills they need to succeed.
Only 48% of children are fully ready for kindergarten when they start school.
(National Kids Count Data Center, 2022)
1 in 3 children enter kindergarten without basic letter recognition skills.
(U.S. Department of Education, Early Childhood LongitudinalStudy)
Children who start kindergarten behind in literacy are 4x more likely to struggle with reading by third grade.
(Annie E. Casey Foundation, "Early Warning” Report)
44% of parents feel unsure about what their child needs to know before kindergarten.
(National Center for Education Statistics)
Research consistently shows that children who enter kindergartenunprepared often stay behind throughout their academic careers. The good news? Early intervention at home — even simple, consistent learning routines — can close these gaps before school even begins.
The single most significant predictor of a child's academic success
is the learning environment and support they receive at home during the preschool years.
(Harvard Center on the Developing Child)
Based on decades of research from leading institutions includeing Harvard, Standford, the U.S. Department of Education, and the National Institues of Health, here are the proven strategies that prepare children for Kindergarten success.
✓ CONSISTENT DAILY ROUTINES
10-15 minutes of daily learning beats occasional longer sessions. Consistency builds habits.
✓ STRUCTURED WEEKLY FOCUS
A simple weekly focus (like one letter perweek) provides direction without overwhelm.
✓ MULTI-SENSORY ACTIVITIES
Learning through sight, sound, touch, and movement accelerates mastery and retention by up to 50%.
✓ PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Children whose parents engage in learning activities score 30% higher on readiness assessments.
✓ POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT
Celebrating effort and progress builds confidence, motivation, and a love of learning.
✓ EARLY WRITING PRACTICE
Pre-writing and fine motor activities predict reading and writing success in later grades.
✓ SIMPLE, ACCESSIBLE METHODS
Parents don't need expertise — simple guidance produces measurable results across all backgrounds.
When my husband Michael and I were young parents, we were both working full-time and doing our best to build a life for our family. During those early years, my mom, Susie — “Nana” to our children — cared for them while we were at work. She didn’t just babysit. She poured into them. She practiced letters and numbers, read stories, built puzzles, and turned ordinary moments into joyful learning experiences.
When my mom passed away, I began reflecting on the foundation she helped build in those early years. I realized she wasn’t just teaching ABCs — she was building confidence, curiosity, and connection. Tiny Turtle Learning was born in her honor (she loved turtles), and this Blueprint is my way of carrying forward what she modeled so beautifully: steady, joyful, intentional learning at home.
Later, I became a stay-at-home mom and chose to homeschool all four of our children. It wasn’t always easy — there were tears, questions, and moments of doubt — but there was also growth. Today, three of our children have graduated high school and are thriving in their chosen paths, and our youngest continues her homeschool journey. Looking back, I can see how those small, consistent preschool foundations made a lifelong difference.
I created The Kindergarten Readiness Blueprint for moms like you — whether you are homeschooling, staying home, or simply wanting to give your child a strong start. You don’t need perfection. You don’t need complicated systems. You need love, consistency, and a simple plan.
